Just two weeks after one of the most exciting Pay Per View events of the year, the UFC is back with UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard 3, live from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Held to coincide with a two-day fan expo in the area, fans will get the chance to see not one, but two title fights on a night that could surprise with one of the most underrated UFC betting cards of the season.
With names like Chael Sonnen, Brian Stann, and Joe Lauzon, fans know what they can expect during the main card, but the majority of the sports betting anticipation is aimed at the two main event title fights, with the UFC Featherweight championship and UFC Lightweight championship both scheduled to be defended. First, UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo will step in to the octagon looking for his second win in the promotion, after carrying over his 11-fight win streak from the WEC to successfully defend his title in his UFC debut. Aldo will face a more lethal challenger this time around when he steps in to the octagon with Kenny Florian, and it will be interesting to see how they clash. That contest will pave the way for the second title fight of the night, as for the second consecutive time UFC Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar defends his belt against Gray Maynard. Edgar fought Maynard to a draw when the two battled on New Years day at UFC 125: Resolution, which left Edgar’s career-record against him at 0-1-1 after he lost to Maynard back in April of 2008. There will be no fishing games in the third meeting between these two, and it will be interesting to see if Edgar finally is able to overcome the only opponent that he has ever lost against.
