UFC betting enthusiasts are chomping at the bit for UFC 132 to arrive, as in less than two weeks time, during the July long weekend, fans will be able to watch the long awaited rematch between Bantamweights Dominic Cruz and Urijah Faber. If you are an MMA betting purist, chances are you have been hoping and praying that after acquiring WEC, the UFC would put this dream match together. Here is a preview of UFC 132 set for July 2, 2011.
UFC 132 is one of the most stacked cards in UFC history, as aside from UFC 129 in Toronto, Canada, there probably hasn’t been as stacked of a card. The card is headlined by the aforementioned Bantamweight rematch between Dominic Cruz and Urijah Faber. This card also features Light Heavyweight Tito Ortiz taking on Ryan Bader, and Welterweight’s Wanderlei Silva and Chris Leben.
As we’ve stated throughout this article, the main event is a Bantamweight fight. When Dominic Cruz and Urijah Faber fought for the first time in WEC in 2007, the bout was for Faber’s Featherweight Championship. This time around, the roles are reversed, as Cruz is the Bantamweight Champion, and Faber has dropped down in weight class to challenge him. For those new to the situation, Faber is the only man to ever defeat Dominic Cruz, as he made him submit in just less than two minutes of the first round by Guillotine Choke. This time around, Cruz expects to be the one making Faber tap out.
The other two aforementioned fights are between four fighters that are in need of a momentum change. In the co main event, Wanderlei the axe murderer Silva battles the rainbow haired warrior Chris Leben. Both fighters are coming off losses, but we like Silva in this fight, due to his knockout oriented style.
